Northwest of Malaga, near the town of Ardales, is the village of El Chorro, with the famous Garganta El Chorro. It is one of the best places in Europe for mountaineers. It is a gorge, with on both sides very imposing steep cliffs, which tower hundreds of meters above the gorge. Through the canyon runs the King’s Trail Caminito del Rey, this path is completely restored in 2006 and very worthwhile to walk. Do book on the site of the Camino del Rey.
